How it all started...
South Suburban was founded in 1977 by a few families who wanted to be a part of an EFCA Church south of the river. A Bible study was started, which quickly outgrew the living room where they were meeting! Eventually land was purchased adjacent to the entrance of the Minnesota Zoo and South Suburban began meeting at our current location in 1983.
Expanding the vision...
Growing attendance led to the need for more space...twice! We added Kid's classroom space in 1988, then a larger Auditorium, new Youth Room, and Adult classrooms in 2005. All this space has allowed us to facilitate our growing body, and provide a space for various groups from our community to gather as we seek to be a blessing in the South Metro.
Where we are headed...
As we look to our future, we are excited to be building upon the rich foundation of the faithful preaching of God's Word. We are thankful for God's abundant provision over the past decades, and look forward to seeing more people take steps closer to Jesus as the gospel message transforms them.
