Over the last few weeks, the Psalms have been building on each other, starting with a Psalm of lament in 42-43, then a corporate lament for the nation in exile in 44, with the resolution coming this week in Psalm 45, which is a royal wedding Psalm. Most weddings today don’t have national implications to them, nor are they something the church celebrates together. But this Psalm was written in a different day, and has some different implications for us today than even when it was written!
