Saul has come up each of the past two weeks in passing, but this week he’s going to move to the center of the story as we see his transformation from enemy to a witness in Acts 9. Giving items to the Food Shelf is an opportunity to give tangible help to our neighbors going through difficult times. Our donations are brought to the Food Shelf at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, where they’re part of providing a welcoming experience that gives clients the dignity of choosing what fits their family needs.  

October’s Most Wanted: Canned Meat, Chicken, & Spam; Canned Stew & Chili; Pasta Sauce & Pasta; Soup & Soup Mixes; Hard Taco Shells; Nut Butters (28 oz. or less).  
Other household and food items are also useful and appreciated. Items useful for your family can be helpful for our neighbors in need.  Healthy options are welcome!

Thank you for remembering that donations must be nonperishable store-bought items, unopened, with current dates. Please drop off at our collection shelves in the Atrium.

Paper Grocery Bags with handles and in good condition are also helpful and appreciated.

Family Bible Class – THIS Sunday, 10/25 at 9 AM, Elementary kids and their grown-up(s) can attend an interactive Family Bible Class. It’s a little different each year, so even if you’ve attended in the past, it would be great to have your family attend again. There will be childcare for younger siblings ages 1 – preschool age. Please register by clicking the button below if you plan to attend.

Kids (ages 3 through 5th grade) are invited to participate in special Christmas music during the worship service on Sunday, December 20  at 10:30 AM. Kids will sing 2 songs and there will be opportunities for some kids to read passages of Scripture. Practices will be on Wednesdays in December before Brite Night from 5:45 PM - 6:15 PM. For more details and to register, click the button below. By registering, you are committing to 3 practices (12/2, 12/9, 12/16) AND singing on 12/20.

All Equip classes will be taking a break this week, October 25.

Kids, Youth, Adults 1 & 2 Kings and the new adult Equip described below, will all begin meeting again on November 1.

We will be offering a new 9 AM class starting on November 1: “A Short History of Evangelicalism” will cover the history of the Evangelical movement, from its roots in Europe and Britain in the 16th and 17th centuries, up through our participation in that movement as part of the Evangelical Free Church of America. This class will run for 6 weeks and will be meeting in the Fellowship Hall. Registration and further details are coming soon.

We will be hosting a men’s breakfast on Saturday, November 14 at 9 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Men are invited for pancakes and a time of fellowship and hearing testimonies of what God has done is doing in the lives of men here at South Sub. Please register by clicking the button below.
