SERMON PREVIEW

This week, we’re continuing our look at the Messianic prophecy from Isaiah 9:6, where we’ll be looking at the name “Mighty God.” In our EFCA Statement of Faith, it says "God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.” That’s a summary of the story of our Mighty God. How would you summarize that story? And how does God’s story affect your story? Join us Sunday as we see the Mighty God’s plan throughout history to bring beauty from the ashes, to create a people out of a non-people, and to give sinners the opportunity to find hope and salvation in Him.

We hope you will join us in person on Sunday at 10:30 AM or watch online.

Please pray about how you can give regularly to support the great staff and many ministries God has given to us. As a reminder, the church office will be closed the week between Christmas and New Years and you will not be able to drop it off at the church after the Sunday the 28th. Thank you for planning accordingly.

FOOD SHELF

As we enjoy the Christmas season, we have neighbors around us who are experiencing food insecurity. They don’t have enough to eat and don’t know where their next meal will come from. As God enables us, our food shelf donations help address real need in real and tangible ways. In this season of giving, we can extend the hand of Christ by helping our neighbors through challenging times.

December’s Most Needed Items:
  • Canned Meats & Fish;
  • Nut Butters (28 oz. or less);
  • Cooking Oils;
  • Flour (wheat and non-wheat);
  • Shelf-stable Non-Dairy Milk;
  • Baking Ingredients;
  • Canned Fruits;
  • Shelf-stable Fruit Juices;
  • Baby Wipes;
  • Pet Supplies (food, treats, cat litter, etc.).
Other household and food staples are also useful and appreciated.  Healthy choices are welcome!

Thank you for remembering that donations must be nonperishable store-bought items, unopened, with current dates. Please drop off at our collection shelves in the Atrium. Paper Grocery Bags with handles and in good condition are also helpful and appreciated.

Are you in need of food? Please find more information at our collection shelves in the Atrium.
Current volunteer opportunities are posted HERE.

Thank you for supporting our neighbors and generously participating in the ways God provides for us all.

TOYS FOR TOTS EVENT

One of the organizations that uses our facility every Christmas is “Victory is Imminent” and they are a partner of Toys for Tots. Victory is Imminent exists to share the love of God by meeting the needs of families who cannot fully support themselves. They do this throughout the year by supplying essential items and at Christmas specifically they provide presents to families that may not be able to afford extra things. Last year, over 700 families (2,093 kids) came to this event location at South Suburban and were blessed with gifts!
This year we wanted to share opportunities to volunteer with the event that will be using space here December 19 -22.

Click HERE to sign up to volunteer your time setting up, escorting shoppers, prayer team, cleaning up at the end of the event, or by making a contribution of needed supplies.

If you would like to contribute to this gift and bless our staff for all the work they put in throughout the year, you can give online and select “Staff Christmas Gift” from the dropdown on our giving page or put your gift (cash or check designated for staff gift) in one of the offering boxes.
