4 Ways to Pray

This week, we’ll be looking at the need for us to pray honestly before the Lord. Jesus gives some examples of prayers throughout His ministry beyond just the Lord’s prayer (yet another reason we shouldn’t take it as the only prayer we’re supposed to pray!). Join us Sunday as we look at Luke 18 and learn how to pray honestly.

We hope you will join us in person on Sunday at 10:30 AM or watch online.

PRAYER TEAM

Our prayer team meets online Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. You can join the meeting HERE.

GIVING

You can give regularly by placing a check in the offering boxes at the back of the Auditorium, going to the South Suburban website and setting up a regular gift, or clicking on the GIVE button below. Please pray about how you can give regularly to support the great staff and many ministries God has given to us. Remember, all contributions are considered gifts and the church may use them to fulfill the continuing needs of ministry as they arise.
END OF YEAR STATEMENTS:  Giving statements will be sent out the week of January 19. For those with an email address on file, you will receive an email with a link. For those that don't, a paper version will be mailed to you. If you have questions, reach out to financialstaff@ssefc.org.
ONLINE GIVING:  Set up a one-time or recurring donation using the button below. If you have any questions about this platform, please reach out to Pastor Micah.

PARTNER OF THE MONTH

Join us as we focus on praying for Christa Erno this month. Click HERE to see her prayer requests.

Christa Erno will be here in person this Sunday. The Missions team invites you to a Q & A with her after the service in the Youth Room. Lunch will be provided.

FOOD SHELF

Families around us are hungry! USDA figures show that one in every five children is unsure of where they will get their next meal. One-third of households headed by single moms and one-fourth of those headed by single dads experience food insecurity (2nd Harvest Heartland). As God enables us, we can help address real needs with our food shelf contributions. Let’s continue to see how God can help us help our neighbors.

JANUARY'S MOST NEEDED ITEMS:
Nut Butter (28 oz. or less); Oatmeal (flavored); Soup;
Shelf-stable Items: Milks (dairy & non-dairy), Meats & Fish, Fruits & Veggies; Fruit Juices;
Baby Wipes; Pet Supplies (food, treats, cat litter, etc.).
Other household and food staples are also useful and appreciated. Healthy choices are welcome!

Thank you for remembering that donations must be nonperishable, store-bought items, unopened, with current dates.
Please drop off at our collection shelves in the Atrium.
Paper Grocery Bags with handles and in good condition are also helpful and appreciated.

Are you in need of food? Please find more information at our collection shelves in the Atrium.
Current volunteer opportunities are posted HERE.

Thank you for supporting our neighbors and generously participating in the ways God provides for us all.

EQUIP CLASSES

Make sure you stop by the Atrium for a donut and coffee on your way to class!
MATTHEW:
The book of Matthew paints a powerful portrait of Jesus as Israel's long-awaited Messiah, the one who would bring God's kingdom to earth and fulfill his promises to his people. Join us as we encounter God's one and only Son: Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. This class meets upstairs in room 255.
WALK THIS WAY:
How do we become more like Jesus? Join us to learn how we should read the Bible, pray, meditate, and be involved in a local church. This class meets in the Fellowship Hall.

WINTER BIBLE STUDY

The Word of the Lord - Seeing Jesus in the Prophets
In the OT God spoke to his people through the prophets. "The New Testament makes it clear that such prophets, whether chastising or comforting, testified to Israel's final redemption and ultimate hope: Jesus the Messiah."
In this 10 session study we will look at 9 different prophets and how they ultimately pointed to the person and work of Christ.
This study will complement Pastor Mike's series on the minor prophets this spring.

We are offering both an evening and morning option. Click the button below to register for either the evening or morning session.
Thursday evenings - Jan 22 - March 26; 6:30 - 8 PM

South Suburban Church periodically uses a meal train to support a church family in need with meals when a new baby is born, or someone is recovering from surgery or illness. Also, sometimes we have a need for donations of bars/cookies for a funeral or other church event.
