SERMON PREVIEW

After seeing what church leadership is supposed to look like, this week we go on to see what the rest of the church is supposed to look like in 1 Timothy 3:14-4:5. How does Paul describe the church, and what does that practically mean for us today? Join us Sunday to find out!

We hope you will join us in person on Sunday at 10:30 AM or watch online.

MEMORY VERSE OF THE MONTH

NEW SONG

We will be singing The First Hymn again this week. The 3rd-century was a time of intense Roman persecution for early Christians.  A Greek papyrus fragment from this time containing the oldest known Christian hymn with musical notation was discovered in Egypt in 1918. The hymn was used by early believers to praise the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – which was in contrast to pagan worship of the time. The words and musical notation were revived by Christian musicians Chris Tomlin and Ben Fielding for the modern church as "The First Hymn". Australian historian John Dickson led "The First Hymn Project" to resurrect the artifact, resulting in a song, a documentary, and a live performance. We pray you enjoy worshipping our one true God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - as you listen to and sing this song.

ADULT EQUIP CLASS OPTIONS

A NEW 6 week class, “Strands of Unity” will begin on November 9. The class will focus on how to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3) by looking at theological triage, the importance of membership in the local church, how to handle conflict, how we love each other, and what it looks like for us to be a faithful witness in our community. More information and registration for this class is HERE.

The class on the book of Ecclesiastes continues to meet each week at 9 AM in room 255.

M.O.M.S.

M.O.M.S. (Making Our Mothers Successful) is one of the many ministries supported financially each month by South Suburban Church. This is a valuable program for single mothers and their families that meet weekly at a church in Burnsville that works to support these women through mentoring, goal formation, education, fellowship and other beneficial services. Once a month dinner is served before their meeting to offer a time of fellowship and to help these busy moms feed their families after a busy day in preparation for their meeting.

Our church will be providing dinner on Thursday, October 23.  If you can help provide items for the dinner and/or help serve, please contact Jenny at 952-913-3835.  Also, please watch for information to come on how you can help fill their Christmas Baskets by bringing an item to the Women's Christmas Event in December. Thank you for helping to show God's love to these moms and their children.

WOMEN'S WORKOUT CLASS
