SERMON PREVIEW

This week, we’ll look at the one Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the second member of the Trinity, and the primary reason the Nicene Council was convened! This section answers the question: how could a Jewish man be God? It is also the section that contains the one word that doesn’t appear in the Bible, but you’ll have to come on Sunday to find out what it is. I also created a website with more resources and information about the Nicene Creed if you want to dig into this topic further. You can find it HERE. Join us Sunday as we continue our series “We Believe.”

We hope you will join us in person on Sunday at 10:30 AM or watch online.

NEW SONG

This week we will be singing the song that takes the words of the Nicene Creed and puts them to music. We'll sing this song each week during this series as a way to reflect on this creed of our faith.

PRAYER TEAM

Our prayer team meets online Wednesday from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. You can join the meeting HERE. Wednesday, May 20, is the final meeting and then we will take a break over summer.

GIVING

You can give regularly by placing a check in the offering boxes at the back of the Auditorium, going to the South Suburban website and setting up a regular gift, or clicking on the GIVE button below. Please pray about how you can give regularly to support the great staff and many ministries God has given to us. Remember, all contributions are considered gifts and the church may use them to fulfill the continuing needs of ministry as they arise.
ONLINE GIVING:  Set up a one-time or recurring donation using the button below. If you have any questions about this platform, please reach out to Pastor Micah.
Click the button below to see an overview of our budgeted income and expenses compared to our current actuals. If you ever have questions about the finances at church please reach out to Pastor Micah.

FOOD SHELF

Thank you for sharing food and household supplies to help neighbors in our communities! Items given are delivered to the Food Shelf at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, just down the road. As more neighbors have reached out for help in the past year, the Food Shelf is serving significantly more households and individuals, powered by donations like yours!

May’s Most Wanted: Hard Taco Shells; Canned Beef Stew & Chili; Cooking Oil; Cake Mix, Frosting, Sprinkles, Baking Sugars and Sweeteners; Pet Food & Supplies. Other household, food, and hygiene items are also useful and appreciated.
Healthy options are welcome!

Thank you for remembering that donations must be nonperishable store-bought items, unopened, with current dates. Please drop off at our collection shelves in the Atrium. Paper Grocery Bags with handles and in good condition are also helpful and appreciated.

Are you in need of food? Please find more information at our collection shelves in the Atrium.
Current volunteer opportunities are posted HERE.
The Amnion Come Together for Life campaign (also known as Bottles for Life) kicks off on Sunday! Stop by the table in the Atrium and grab a bottle to fill with loose change or cash and return by June 21. Checks made payable to Amnion Women's Center are also accepted.

Another way we're supporting Amnion is through the annual Diaper Drive. If you feel led to contribute, all sizes are welcome but sizes 1, 4-6 are most needed.

PRAYER MEETING

Join us for the new men's weekly prayer meeting on Thursdays, beginning May 7. It will be a time of encouraging each other, growing together and worshiping the Lord through prayer. We will be meeting at church from 7-8 PM in Room #256. Please enter through the east side door, #8. Reach out to Paul Rivenburg at pdmstriv@yahoo.com with any questions.

DISCIPLESHIP OPPORTUNITY

Are you interested in getting to know another woman from church better and helping each other take one step closer to Jesus?  This is a great, low time commitment opportunity to meet informally and make those connections.
Once we connect you with someone, the two of you will set your own schedule to meet 4x over the summer. You will go through two small booklets together: one on prayer and one on fasting. Click the button below to register. Questions? Contact Tami Peterson (tami@ssefc.org).

Ladies, enjoy food and friends – old and new – when we gather together in small groups for a meal and fellowship in various homes on Friday, May 29 at 6 PM.
